Depression and its various symptoms interrupt your ability to show up for work, relationships, and yourself. There are many approaches to working with depression, and I can work with you to discover what works for you.
Trauma isn't always what we believe it to be. It is not an event, but rather our response to an event. Trauma occurs when our ability to integrate and make sense of an experience is overwhelmed. There are numerous avenues for healing. Finding what's right for you and your situation is important. I am familiar with and use several approaches to include Trauma Focused ACT, Trauma Focused CBT, and Narrative Therapy.
I use an integrated approach to counseling that includes a strong relational and person-centered focus. I believe change occurs through growth fostering relationships, including the professional, therapeutic relationship with your counselor. As your counselor, I hold a great deal of professional knowledge, however you are the expert on your life. For this reason, my work with clients is collaborative.
Some approaches clients have found useful include, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I work with client to draw from these as appropriate to provide a personalized experience in counseling.
